Media Release: SCC one of the first UK partners to achieve V-Alliance programme accreditation

LEADING technology integrator, SCC, has become one of the first UK businesses to become an accredited member of Microsoft’s V-Alliance programme.

Says a spokesperson: “Set up as a partnership between Microsoft and Citrix to create a central information resource providing businesses with best quality advice and information on the drive towards virtualisation, the V-Alliance assists firms in achieving their goals for efficiency, cost reductions, compliance, integrated management, and security.

“Now, having completed an exhaustive accreditation process, SCC is one of the first British companies to have attained partner status.”

Said Rhys Sharp, chief technology Officer at SCC: “We’re delighted to be one of the first UK partners to join the V-Alliance. It’s an important step that not only confirms our position as a national leader in the field of virtual desktop delivery, but also underlines SCC’s commitment to delivering the desktop of the future to our clients.

“It is a timely announcement. At the same point at which many businesses are considering a major desktop change with the switch to Windows 7, the same firms are also looking closely at the potential cost and flexibility benefits offered by virtualisation. By choosing Microsoft and Citrix as our strategic partners, we’ve ensured that our customers will be working with the very best software available.”

The spokesperson added: “V-Alliance was founded in recognition of the changing role of IT. Advocating the viewpoint that IT needs to operate closer to businesses as companies seek to transform their IT into a lean and integrated business tool, the programme draws upon its members’ expert understanding of best practice to help firms prepare for the cloud computing inspired evolution of IT.”

Nina Sundberg, director Windows client, Microsoft UK, said: “The Microsoft and Citrix V-Alliance identifies professional services organisations that have demonstrated particular capabilities in our joint desktop virtualisation technologies. It’s great news that SCC is joining us in this important venture.”
