STAFF at Inverness airport are ‘feeling flush’ this week after being awarded a five-star grading for the toilet facilities in the terminal.
The airport has also been nominated in the National Airport Category at the annual Loo of the Year Awards 2010.
Says a spokesperson: “This is the second year of nomination for the airport, which in 2009 received a category grading of five stars and won the National Airport Category.
“The UK awards presentation ceremony takes place on 3rd December during which they will find out whether they have scooped the category award.
“The annual Loo of the Year Awards competition helps focus the spotlight on ‘away from home’ toilets throughout the UK. The awards are run independently and promoted by the British Toilet Association.”
Callum B Smith, airport duty manager for Inverness Airport, says: “We are all extremely pleased to have again been awarded a five-star grading for the toilets in the terminal and to once again be nominated in the National Airport Category.
“This shows our dedication to providing the best customer experience possible at our airport, from the moment visitor’s step into the terminal until they board their flight.
“For many passengers, the toilet facilities in the terminal are the first point of call after they land, so excellent standards at all times are required.”
Alice Thomson, director of Pristine Clean, Inverness Airport’s cleaning contractors, says: “Pristine Clean always operate to the highest of standards and we work extremely closely with the Inverness airport staff and management team to ensure that the facilities are top class at all times.
“We are looking forward to the awards presentation next month and once again hope to scoop the National Airport Category Award.”
