Media Release: Wine tasting challenge to raise funds for Archway

AN Aberdeen charity is set to benefit from a wine tasting challenge this month, which will raise funds for the organisation.

Malcolm Campbell is running the event in aid of Archway, which offers support to children and adults with learning difficulties, on Friday, November 19, at The Sportsman’s Club on Queens Road.

The evening offers supporters of Archway the chance to test their wine tasting skills and enjoy a variety of fine cheeses and charcuterie. Guests will also have the chance to test their knowledge on the world of wine and other trivia along with the chance to win prizes in a charity raffle.

Janine Davies, fundraising and PR manager at Archway, said: “The wine tasting challenge is an ideal opportunity for family and friends to get together and enjoy a few glasses of wine, while helping raise funds for charity.

“There will be some fantastic raffle prizes up for grabs and the top three teams in the quiz will go away with some lovely prizes. If anyone would like to make a donation to the raffle then it would be greatly appreciated by all at Archway.”

Tickets for the event, which kicks off at 6:30pm, cost £80 for a team of four or £95 for a team of five. For further information or to purchase tickets contact Malcolm Campbell on 01224 317327 or email: malccampbell7@sky.com. Archway is an Aberdeen-based charity which provides respite, shared and permanent care to over 200 children and adults with learning disabilities. The charity has five community based units throughout Aberdeen, which aim to help users to reach the full potential.

The charity enables service users to gain independence and develop social skills needed to enable them to live full and active lives in the local community.
