Media Release: Make your gift count for CLAN this Christmas

AN Aberdeen-based cancer support charity has the ideal gift suggestion this Christmas for those struggling to find that special present for the person who has everything.

This year CLAN has made Christmas gift vouchers available, with each one purchased helping the charity to offer vital services to its clients.

Vouchers can be tailored to suit any budget and are ideal for people who would prefer to see money spent go towards helping others.

The money donated will go towards a range of different services; for example, a voucher of £25 will allow CLAN to provide one complementary or counselling session, one home visit or one relaxation class.

A donation of £50 can cover the cost of transporting a client to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, while one course of aqua detox (six sessions) or the full training of one volunteer can be achieved by purchasing a £100 voucher.

Fundraising manager for CLAN, Susan Crighton, said: “Every year many people struggle to come up with fresh ideas as to what to give their loved ones as a Christmas gift.

“So often presents are never looked at beyond Christmas Day and so we thought that this year it would be great to offer alternatives.

“Buying one of our vouchers allows us to do so much and will really make a difference to our service users.

“We would urge anyone who is struggling to come up with ideas as to what to give someone this year to consider one of our vouchers, or to suggest to their loved ones that they would rather have a voucher bought for them than have a gift under the tree.”

The CLAN gift vouchers can be purchased from either of the charity’s gift shops on Rosemount Viaduct or Chapel Street.

CLAN is an independent charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer. Based in Aberdeen, the charity covers the whole of Grampian, Orkney and Shetland. CLAN is also developing services in the community and now has a presence in Ballater, Inverurie, Peterhead, Stonehaven, Orkney and Shetland.
