Media Release: Double recognition for chair of Weber Shandwick in Scotland

NORA Senior, executive chair of UK Regions at leading public relations and public affairs consultancy, Weber Shandwick, has been recognised with an award for Outstanding Personal Achievement at the UK Best Business Awards.

Says a spokesperson: “The Best Business Awards aim to highlight and reward excellence across the private and public sectors in the UK. Entries are judged by an independent panel of business experts and past winners. Each submission is scored against specific category criteria with particular emphasis on success and innovation.

“The accolade follows on from her success at the seventh annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, hosted in New York, where she was nominated for three awards: Best Executive – Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations; Best Executive in EMEA and the Personal Achievement Award – Advertising, Marketing, and Public Relations.”

Chair of UK Regions and Ireland of Weber Shandwick since 2009 and with over 20 years’ experience in the public relations industry, Senior has worked on communication strategies and crisis management issues for national and international companies across healthcare, finance, property, technology and public sector organisations.

She currently oversees operations in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen, Belfast and Dublin.

Commenting on Nora Senior’s Best Business Award for Outstanding Personal Achievement, Andrew Areoff, chair of the Best Business Awards judges, said: “It is clear that throughout her career Nora Senior has shown real business acumen rising to be executive chair of a multi-million pound PR operation across seven office and practice areas.

Senior currently holds a number of non-executive positions including the British Chambers of Commerce; vice-chair of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce; think tank Scottish Council Development and Industry, the National Trust for Scotland and a member of the Regional Advisory Group to the London Stock Exchange.
