Media Release: Bookies offer odds on Hogmanay cancellation

AS Scotland braces itself for a White Christmas, Scottish bookmakers, McBookie.com, is offering just 3/1 that the weather causes the cancellation of the Edinburgh Hogmanay festivities.

The firm is also offering 9/1 that the lowest temperature in Scotland (-27.2C) will be beaten by the end of the year.

Paul Petrie, McBookie.com spokesman, commented: “We are already odds on that Scotland will be waking up to a White Christmas but there is also a very good chance that it will be a White Hogmanay and that could play havoc with the celebrations.”
