Media Release: ESPC plea for lost information

ESPC is celebrating its 40th birthday in March and has issued a public plea to try to regain lost information.

As part of their calendar of events to mark the commemorative date in March, they would like to feature some of the first properties marketed for sale through ESPC back in 1971.

However, records from that era have been destroyed.

Neil Harrison, ESPC marketing manager, commented: “The task of identifying the first homes which ESPC advertised for sale is proving near impossible.

“An over-enthusiastic office clear-out a few years ago has resulted in all of our records from that area being destroyed. These were massive bound books with every registered property listed, in the era before computers.

“We are appealing to members of the public to get in touch with us if they sold in 1971, if they bought a property in Edinburgh at that time or if they know of a friend or family member who moved that year.

“Any information, no matter how vague, will be gratefully received.”

The ESPC marketing team can be contacted on 0131 624 8000 or marketing@espc.com.
