Media Release: Take your place on the start line for the Inverness Half Marathon 2011

KICK-start your running campaign for 2011 by entering now for the Inverness Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 13 March.

All entries must be in by midnight on 28 February – visit www.invernesshalfmarathon.co.uk to reserve your place for this spring run!

Popular with runners near and far, the Inverness Half Marathon offers a challenging and rewarding way to participate in an outstanding event along a scenic course through the Highland capital and has an excellent reputation for being a superb runner experience.

As well as the Half Marathon, the event offers a 5K Fun Run, catering for all ages and abilities.

To help runners prepare for the event, sponsor Run 4 It is hosting a Half Marathon Fun Day at their shop in Huntly Street, Inverness, on Saturday 26 February.

Experts will be on hand to offer advice on training, running analysis, shoe fitting, nutrition and hydration, including advice from a fully-qualified podiatrist.

Malcolm Sutherland, race director, said: “The Inverness Half Marathon has had a tremendous following over the years, and we look forward to welcoming all runners on 13 March and would encourage everyone thinking of taking part to make sure their entry is in by next Monday’s deadline!”

If you would like to help others through your efforts, the Inverness Half Marathon and 5K encourage you to put on a running bib for one of our nominated charities: Highland Hospice, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, Children 1st and Macmillan Cancer Support.
