Media Release: A treat for international women

LIVE Language, a leading independent language school, is giving something back to its staff and students for International Women’s Day tomorrow (Tuesday 8 March).

Teachers and other staff at the school and the students in Sandyford Place, Glasgow will be treated to a stress-busting massage and an introductory yoga session from one of Scotland’s top yoga teachers.

Live Language teaches English to overseas students and eight foreign languages to people from Scotland so it is always a place with a lot of buzz about it and many different nationalities mixing.

The language school, which has been going for eight years, has provided classes for individuals and companies including the Edrington Group and ScottishPower.

Adell Mitchell, the director and owner of Live Language, said: “I wanted to give something back to the team here for all their hard work and commitment to the school and to our students from overseas.

“Given that we are very international in outlook with students here just now from half a dozen countries and given that the international Women’s Day theme this year is equal access to education and training it seemed like a good day to mark.

“I have noticed that our Saudi women students have never heard of International Women’s Day but Russian, Chinese and Indian female students have. So, if we can raise some awareness and bring a moment of relaxation to our Libyan students then I’ll be happy.”

Anna Kerr of Pressure Drop, who has recently qualified in massage therapies after being a teacher at the language school for a few years, is giving the massages.

Julie Hanson, a leading teacher and entrepreneur in yoga, health and fitness, is providing the introductory Yoga classes.

Julie has recently opened Chi and Co, a centre for yoga and other fitness classes and yoga teacher training school, on the south side of Glasgow.
