JOLOMO ARTS & CRAFTS PSYBT AWARDS
THE Jolomo Arts & Crafts PSYBT Awards are the result of an unique partnership between the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT) and John Lowrie Morrison – Jolomo – one of Scotland’s best-loved contemporary artists.
The winners of the 2011 Jolomo Arts & Crafts PSYBT Awards, aimed at encouraging more young people in Scotland to set up businesses in the craft and creative industries sector, will be announced tomorrow [Thursday 17th March] at an event at the Kranenburg Gallery in Oban.
The awards will recognise the special achievements of three young businesses under themes including distance travelled/personal development, commercial awareness/business skills and innovation/creativity.
The overall winner will receive the top prize money of £3000.
The shortlisted finalists are: Rachel Elliott (28) founder of Rachel Elliott Glassworks in Edinburgh; Judith Clark (26) a fashion designer also from Edinburgh; Dundee based hand woven textiles designer Lauren Crawford (25); Silversmith Genna Delaney (29) founder of Genna Design also from Dundee; Stuart Mutch (26) founder of Break The Mould Furniture in Glasgow; jewellery designer Robyn Kinsman Blake (23) from the Scottish Borders; and jewellery maker and silversmith Anna Marion (24) founder of Oui Designs in Dumbartonshire.
