Media Release: Aberdeen-based Intersum appoints chair to lead future growth plans

ABERDEEN-based IT services specialist, Intersum Corporate IT Solutions, has appointed a company chair to help lead its ambitious growth strategy for the remainder of 2011 and beyond.

Graeme Scott – who has been a partner with leading Scottish business advisory firm, Company Growth, for more than five years – has taken up the role.

Mr Scott has extensive industry experience across a diverse range of sectors and has previously held senior positions within companies including Ferranti Scotland, The Bourton Group and Ernst & Young, where he was a member of the business advisory team for eight years.

Intersum – which is based on West Craibstone Street – is aiming for a 50 per cent increase in turnover in its latest financial year, from around £1.2million for 2009/10 to £1.8million for 2010/11.

It also intends to boost its existing 20 personnel by a further ten during the remainder of the year.

The firm has already secured a number of significant new contracts during the first six months of 2011 and Mr Scott – who has more than 20 years’ experience of helping businesses through periods of growth – will provide additional support and advice to Intersum’s existing management team as it seeks to continue to increase its market share across the country.

Intersum’s managing director, John Gillies, said: “Graeme’s outstanding skill-set and enviable reputation for getting the very best out of people means he is the ideal fit for this position.

“His first-class knowledge and track record of improving organisational focus within businesses will be an invaluable asset as we continue to drive forward our future growth plans.”

Mr Scott, 54, added: “This is a challenging and rewarding new role for me and I look forward to contributing significantly – through offering both strategic advice and practical help – to the continued growth and success of Intersum during a very exciting period in the company’s history.”

Intersum Ltd Corporate IT Solutions was established in 2004 to provide IT services primarily to the UK oil and gas sector. Current clients include Centrica Energy Upstream, Red Spider Technology and Subsea7.
