Media Release: Five-deal October for Graham + Sibbald

GRAHAM + Sibbald’s Edinburgh Agency department racked up five deals within the month of October with four deals being leasehold and one freehold.

The successful lettings took place at:

11 Howard Street, Edinburgh

A private individual has taken 2,061 sq ft of retail space over ground and basement on a three-year term with a further option to extend for a further three years at a passing rental of £14,000 per annum. Graeme Millar acted on behalf of the landlord.

247 St John’s Road, Edinburgh

The charity WePay has taken 549 sq ft of retail space on St John’s Road at a passing rental of £12,000 per annum for a three-year term. Graeme Millar sub-let the leasehold interest on behalf of the head tenant, Neilsons Solicitors.

68 Dalry Road, Edinburgh

A private company has taken on 560 sq ft of retail space together with one private car parking space for a five-year term at a passing rental of £11,000 per annum. Graeme Millar acted on behalf of the landlord, Maqsood Ahmed.

11 Chapel Street, Innerleithen

Nickel n’ Dime took on 3,056 sq ft of retail space from the Co-operative Estates for a five-year term at a passing rental of £10,000 per annum. Graeme Millar acted on behalf of the Co-operative.

Former Mayfair Inn Bar & Grill, Musselburgh

A private company has successfully acquired 9,722 sq ft of the former restaurant/nightclub premises from The Musselburgh Property Company (In Liquidation) through Begbies Traynor at a price of £320,000. Graeme Millar acted on behalf of the liquidators Begbies Traynor.

Graeme Millar of Graham + Sibbald successfully disposed of all five properties on behalf of the landlords/liquidators and commented that these deals represent a good level of transactional activity, particularly within the secondary retail markets which has certainly not been immune to the lack of debt finance available.
