Media Release: Stewart Milne Homes appoints new managing director

PREMIUM housebuilder, Stewart Milne Homes, has appointed Jonathan Fair as managing director of its Central Scotland division.

Fair, previously chief executive of Homes for Scotland will take full responsibility for driving further growth of the successful Stewart Milne Homes division, based in Tannochside.

Fair, in his role as chief executive for Homes for Scotland, the voice of Scotland’s home building industry, has been instrumental in working alongside Government and developers to bring much needed additional new homes to Scotland.

He is an active member of the Scottish Government’s Housing Policy Advisory Group together with the 2020 Built Environment Sub Group on Climate Change.

Prior to joining Homes for Scotland, Fair was director of BRE Scotland.

Jonathan Fair commented on his appointment: “I am delighted to be joining one of the UK’s leading private developers and I am looking forward to contributing to an already successful and innovative business that prides itself on quality and service.”

The Central Scotland division currently has 18 developments from Edinburgh to the Ayrshire coast, with a number of new sites due to launch in the next few months.

Building on the success of previous award winning developments and consumer research, these new developments will offer a range of new homes suited to both the family and first time buyer markets.

Jonathan Fair will report to John Slater, group managing director (homes), who said: “We are very pleased that Jonathan will be joining us. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our group and will be instrumental in developing our already strong division.”

Fair has over two decades of experience within the construction sector in both private and public roles. His background is primarily in project management and he has been instrumental in delivering significant infrastructure, capital developments and PFI schemes.

The appointment comes after previous managing director, Alex Goodfellow, was appointed to the group’s main board with responsibility for Stewart Milne Timber Systems.
