Media Release: BIS Salamis donation sees winter coats donated to children

ABERDEEN-based industrial service provider, BIS Salamis, is donating £2,000 to children’s charity, Barnardo’s, to help purchase winter coats for under privileged children.

The leading international services contractor is supporting the charity’s initiative for the second year running following the success of last year’s appeal.

The Real Gifts campaign allows benefactors to specify how they wish their donation to be utilised – whether on coats, meals or toys – giving a vulnerable child or young person the chance to enjoy a memorable Christmas.

The firm elected to use the donation to provide winter coats to children experiencing poverty.

Mike Main, BIS Salamis’ managing director, said: “We actively promote supporting charities to our staff and clients and I am delighted that we are able to donate to such a worthy cause.

“To know that the money is going towards buying coats for underprivileged kids is really heart-warming.

“At this time of year it can be easy to forget about those less fortunate than us, so to know we are helping children is fantastic.

“A jacket doesn’t just provide protection and warmth for a child living in poverty, it allows them to run about outside with friends throughout the winter, living healthy and happy lives.

“The Real Gift scheme is a great way of knowing exactly how donations are spent and with the harsh winters we have been experiencing we really believe that thick coats will be a welcome present.”

BIS Salamis is a leading international services contractor with a proven track record of providing integrated, multi-disciplined support services and maintenance solutions to a range of clients, principally in the energy, petrochemical, industrial and utilities sectors.
