Media Release: Become a National Theatre of Scotland champion

THE National Theatre of Scotland is looking to recruit a small team of voluntary champions across Scotland, to work alongside the team, to promote the company in local communities.

The National Theatre of Scotland is looking for people of all ages and backgrounds who are passionate about theatre, have previously been to see a National Theatre of Scotland show and would be keen to spread the word about the work of the company in their community.

Working closely with the National Theatre of Scotland, these champions will play a major part in finding creative ways for their community to discover the work of the company, e.g. hosting local events and talks or helping to create conversations via social media channels.

In return, each champion will have exclusive access to the whole creative process – from the first day of rehearsals to opening night, as well as the chance to meet new people, get free tickets to see shows and become a vital part of the team at the National Theatre of Scotland.

Another opportunity to become involved with the National Theatre of Scotland team, exclusively for 14 to 25 year-olds, will be announced shortly.

Vicky Featherstone, artistic director of the National Theatre of Scotland, says: “One of the many privileges of being the artistic director of the National Theatre of Scotland is travelling the length and breadth of the country and getting the chance to talk to audiences who are as passionate about theatre and our work, as I am.

“I am delighted we are putting out the call to find audience members who would like to become a key part of the team.

“I look forward to hearing their ideas about championing the National Theatre of Scotland’s projects and productions and helping us spread the word about the company’s work to communities across Scotland.”

Further information about becoming a voluntary champion can be found at www.nationaltheatrescotland.com

The posts are voluntary and last one year.
