Media Release: 1,000 ‘likes’ for hospice, thanks to NSDesign

STAFF at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice were celebrating after the care facility secured its 1,000th ‘like’ on Facebook.

The well-known Glasgow charity enlisted the support of local digital agency, NSDesign, to help it boost its online presence and give it a new platform from which to tell supporters about fundraising events and news about their plans for a new hospice next to Bellahouston Park..

Hillington-based firm, NSDesign, advised the charity on how best to increase its social media fan base by providing a range of practical tips and expert insights on the subject.

Established in 1999, NSDesign provides social media training to a range of organisations, including Eastern Western Motor Group, Glasgow Airport and the Glasgow Rocks basketball team.

In addition to providing ongoing support to the hospice to help boost ‘likes’ on Facebook, NSDesign also donated £1 to the charity for each new Facebook fan it gained over April and May.

Ian Crawford, communications officer at The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, said:

“We’re very happy to reach this milestone on our Facebook page and we would like to say a big thank you to NSDesign for their ongoing support which has helped this to happen.

“Social media is becoming a key way for us to communicate with our supporters, which was illustrated recently with our Midnight Walk. Through Facebook alone we raised approximately £2,000 from the event and this just shows the huge power of the internet for charitable fundraising.”

Gary Ennis, managing director at NSDesign, said: “The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice is a fantastic charity which helps hundreds of people across Glasgow each year who have a life-limiting terminal illness, and supports their families as well.

“Today marks a very significant day for the charity with 1,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook.  We look forward to continuing to work in partnership with the team and wish them all the best with using the internet to raise funds for their next event.”
