Media Release: Save the Children golf tournament turns 30

SAVE the Children will be holding their 30th annual Golf Tournament this September.

The charity event which has raised £310,000 over the past 30 years, will be held on 10 September 2012 at the prestigious Glenbervie Golf club, Stirlingshire.

Golf clubs across Scotland can hold club qualifiers before 25 August and winning couple from each club will then play at the finals at Glenbervie Golf Club. Entry is open to all players who hold a national handicap and entry fee is £30 per couple.

Louise Fiermonte, community fundraiser, said: “The tournament is a really popular event in the golfing calendar and has continued to grow each year with over 50 golf clubs participating last year. We’re always looking for new clubs to join the event.

“It’s a great day out and all the golfers really get behind the cause. Over £9,000 was raised last year at the tournament which will help children all over the world.”
