OMEGA Completion Technology Ltd (Omega) announces today [Tuesday 11th October] the appointment of Graeme McRobb as chief operating officer.

His role will focus on the planned global growth of the company and follows Omega’s £2 million investment in a new purpose-built facility at Dyce, Aberdeen.

Omega has over 20 years of history in developing products for well intervention and completion, and currently holds 23 patents. All of the firm’s products are designed and produced in-house, including electronics design and manufacture.

Within this new role Graeme will be complementing the very successful management team already in place at Omega by bringing additional experience in the key aspects of the business.

Managing the growth of the company to ensure the core values and personnel are maintained will be one of Graeme’s main objectives.

Graeme says: “Omega has an excellent reputation within the oil and gas industry for unique and innovative technology, and this was one of the main reasons for joining the team here.

“I have worked with Omega many times in the past on various projects with very successful results and have always believed that the company has amazing potential.

“I am delighted to now be part of the team that can hopefully deliver more success with the planned growth in our key technologies both in existing and new markets globally.”

Prior to joining Omega Graeme was employed by an international completions solutions company for four years where he was responsible for overseeing various parts of the business with his main focus on managing the research and development and sustaining engineering functions.

In his 30-year career he has previously held global management positions in both engineering and QHSE for some of the major oil and gas service companies, specialising in completions equipment.

Omega managing director, Mark Buyers, says that Graeme’s appointment as chief operating officer will be pivotal to the firm’s strategy for continued development.

He adds: “Graeme comes with an excellent track record and an unparalleled knowledge of completions technology having worked in this sector for his entire career. We firmly believe that his appointment will stand Omega in the best possible position to continue with its strategy of strong and steady future growth.

“The demand for our niche market tools continues to increase and the next couple of years will see us create a client base in countries where we are not currently operating at present. There are some very bright prospects for Omega in future, and we are delighted that Graeme will be part of that.”
