1901 Bar & Grill, the leading quality gastro pub in Glasgow’s southside, has introduced its festive lunch and dinner menus.

Available from Monday 5 December and running throughout the month, 1901’s festive lunch and dinner menu features starters of: soup of the day; chicken liver pate served with oat cakes and a sweet homemade chutney and a half pint of prawns with iceberg lettuce and a Marie Rose sauce.

The mains dishes on offer are: traditional roast turkey with sage and onion stuffing, chipolatas in bacon and cranberry sauce; poached Scottish salmon served in a mussel and fennel broth; roast silverside of Angus beef with a rich red wine, shallot and tarragon jus and a Mediterranean roast vegetable tart served with salad and blue cheese dressing.

Diners can choose from a selection of delicious desserts, including: Christmas pudding and brandy sauce; fresh fruit salad served with a choice of cream or ice cream and Scottish fruit trifle topped with a Drambuie cream – concluding with a tea or coffee served with mince pie.

1901’s set festive menus are available for £11.95 for lunch and £14.95 for dinner.

Its Christmas Day menu, meanwhile, features starters of: soup of the day; chicken liver pate served with oatcakes and a sweet homemade chutney; smoked salmon, horseradish and cress toasts; pork, smoked bacon and mushroom terrine served with crisp salad and Bramley apple dressing and a fan of fresh Ogden melon with smoked ham and kiwi fruit.

Christmas Day mains dishes are: traditional roast turkey with sage and onion stuffing, chipolatas in bacon and cranberry sauce; poached Scottish salmon served in a mussel and fennel broth; supreme of Ayrshire chicken stuffed with haggis served with a creamy whisky sauce; roast silverside of Angus beef with a rich red wine, shallot and tarragon jus; pan fried collops of venison with a red wine, sweet red onion and pink peppercorn sauce and Mediterranean roast vegetable tart served with salad and blue cheese dressing.

Desserts include: sticky toffee pudding with warm homemade butterscotch sauce and ice cream; Christmas pudding and brandy sauce; fresh fruit salad served with a choice of cream or ice cream; Scottish fruit trifle topped with a Drambuie cream and vanilla cheese cake with wild berries and ice cream – concluding with a tea or coffee served with mince pie.
