A SIMPLE stroll down The Avenue Shopping Centre to do her weekly shopping has led to Elaine Marney from Newton Mearns heading on a luxury trip to Arran.

That’s because Elaine’s shopping trip coincided with the Avenue’s Christmas Lights Switch-on Ceremony, featuring King’s Theatre Sleeping Beauty cast members and Smooth Radio breakfast show presenters John and Sharon.

Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue, explained: “On the day of our Christmas Lights Switch-on, Santa’s elves, Smooth Radio and Avenue staff handed out leaflets to win a luxury trip to Arran – and the only way to win was to be in the Avenue on that day!”

The prize consists of: two nights for two people at the Auchrannie Spa resort in Brodick with breakfast and dinner included; return ferry crossing with car, and a trip to the Arran Aromatics factory where a visit will be organised and both adults will be given a his and hers gift set of products made on the island.

“Congratulations to Elaine for winning the prize from a host of entries gathered on the day,” said Ms McCabe. “You just never know what a stroll down The Avenue can lead to!”

The Avenue Shopping Centre offers shoppers an alternative to sprawling trolley-dash shopping culture with a comprehensive range of outlets offering a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.

The Avenue is home to 44 different retailers including: banks/post office; books; children; clothing/fashion; food and drink; health and pharmacy; jewellery and gifts; mobile phones; newsagent and cards; opticians; perfumery/beauty salon; restaurant and coffee; shoe and repairs; handbags/ luggage and travel.
