Media Release: Business conditions in Renfrewshire 2012 – survey results

RENFREWSHIRE Chamber conducted a survey with its members throughout January, focusing on ‘Business Conditions for 2012′.

Says a spokesperson: “Given the bad news we frequently see and hear regarding the economy, the results provided a more local balanced view.

“The Chamber’s conclusion from these results are that many businesses do have positive plans and are seeing themselves responsible for their own recovery, not relying entirely on the market or the government to sort things out for them.

“Their positive outlook could result in more jobs, increased investment and opportunities for local suppliers.”

Commenting on the survey results, Chamber president, Tom Johnston, said: “This supports our long-standing view; that Renfrewshire is, indeed, a great place to do business.

“It is a strong location for access by road, air, sea and train with a wealth of successful companies across a wide range of sectors.

“The Chamber actively encourages local businesses of all sizes to engage with fellow business men and women via the Chamber channels including our lunches, forums, online and in print.

“Companies can understand what others are doing and benefit from their experience.”

The award-winning Chamber is on target to reach 600 members by the end of March 2012 and provides a range of products and services designed to support businesses of all sizes and sectors including events, export documentation, marketing channels and business mentoring.
