MEDIA INVITE

FUTURES FEST

GEORGE SQUARE, GLASGOW – STARTS 10 a.m FRIDAY, APRIL 27.

YOU are invited to send a reporter/photographer/film crew to the opening of Futures Fest, Scotland’s biggest and brightest careers and lifestyle event.

Designed to showcase some of the opportunities and options available to 16-25-year-olds living in Scotland, this is a brand new FREE, fun and informative event taking place on April 27th and 28th.

Organiser, Graeme Barratt, says: “One of the key messages is that Scotland can still offer young people a bright future and there are people here to help.

“Despite thousands of young people being increasingly unsure about their prospects because of rising youth unemployment it’s not all doom and gloom.

“Scotland is a great place to live and it’s still full of amazing opportunities as Futures Fest will highlight.

“This is very much a ‘what next’ event geared towards young people living in Scotland.”

Over 50 exhibitors are taking part including The British Army, Citizens Advice Bureau, Skills Development Scotland, The Open University, Strathclyde Police, the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority,) Job Centre Plus, Glasgow Regeneration Agency, Scottish Institute for Enterprise and the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust.

There will be a strong focus on recruitment and apprenticeships with a presence from the rapidly expanding renewable and gaming sectors alongside more traditional industries.

Graeme Barratt will be available for interview in George Square.
