BELL Ingram has appointed Oban’s first commercial property consultant to provide specialist commercial surveying advice from its fast-growing Oban office.

Gregor King, who has more than 25 years experience, will oversee the firm’s expanding list of business sales and commercial property instructions, as well as supporting surveying firms with clients in Argyll, the Isles and Lochaber.

He said: “Bell Ingram already provides commercial property and business sales advice to a range of existing clients. My new role means I can develop this consultancy business to cover all aspects of commercial property, something that no-one else is offering in the Argyll area at the moment.

“With sound, professional advice we can make, or save, businesses money – often by fairly simple and inexpensive means.

“I will also be contacting all of the major surveying firms in Scotland advising them that Bell Ingram now has a commercial department and offering assistance on any instructions they have in the Argyll and Lochaber areas.

“Logistically, it is difficult for a Glasgow or Edinburgh firm to justify sending staff to Oban or Fort William to survey, say, a small shop, but we can do that or offer a joint agency service.”

Gregor is currently working on an extensive list of instructions, including several prime retail and hospitality developments in the centre of Oban and the Isle of Mull. He is also involved in marketing a new development of small business units by M & K Macleod Ltd at Glenshellach Court, Glenshellach Business Park, Oban.

Paul Nicoll, Bell Ingram’s Oban office director, said: “We are delighted to have such an experienced property professional join our team. We excel in providing clients with the best advice, and I am confident that Gregor will considerably enhance our quality and range of services.”

Established in 1899, Bell Ingram is a multi-disciplined firm of chartered surveyors, forestry managers, estate agents, architects, building surveyors and energy specialists. With more than 130 professional staff across 11 UK offices they provide local knowledge with national coverage.
