GIRLS, forget covering your bloke in chocolate…. award-winning chef, Paul Wedgwood, from Edinburgh’s ‘Wedgwood the Restaurant’ in the Canongate on the Royal Mile, has created what is believed to be the first edible ‘glow-in-the-dark’ body paint, which he plans to demonstrate as one of his exciting ingredients in the Show Kitchen, at this weekend’s Girls’ Day Out Show at The Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston, Edinburgh.

It opens on Friday 11th May at 10am and runs till Sunday.

Watch out guys, Paul aims to cover celebrity visitor Peter Andre with some of his new invention to liven things up a bit.

Says Paul: “I was hunting about for something a bit different for my food demo at this special show – when I hit on the idea of a glow-in-the-dark edible body paint.

“The base is an apple puree and I have included some tonic water and some other secret ingredients. It should be fun and give the girls something to talk about as well as my demonstration of quick and easy chocolate and peanut butter truffle cake with a banana and honey ice cream, which is great for dinner parties.”

Paul is also perfecting his body paint skills with an edible metallic body glitter and massage oils.

Chef, Paul Wedgwood, is the only chef to present at Girls’ Day Out, and will present six demos in total – two each day at 1pm and 3pm.

He is no stranger to food demonstrations – with regular appearances at Taste of Edinburgh and the Royal Highland Show where visitors have been treated to his signature dishes lobster crème brulee and venison haggis amongst other tasty Scottish dishes.

Paul has an international reputation as one of Scotland’s leading talents, and his business Wedgwood The Restaurant, is currently Scottish Restaurant of the Year and is known for serving the finest Scottish cuisine. He is guest chef at the Celtic Festival Barbados in June.

A perfectionist with an eye for detail, he’ll be passing his wealth of knowledge on to Girls’ Day Out visitors, giving cookery and hospitality tips for the perfect dinner party.

Paul is known for focusing on local, Scottish ingredients to create the highest quality of food.  Get ready to hone your cooking skills with the best!
