Preparations are now well underway for one of Scotland’s biggest Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in Perth this Saturday. Bunting is up, the stage is set and the kilts are being collected en masse for the World Record Attempt Perth Kilt Run.
But there’s one kilted celebrity that will really be making heads turn at this Saturday’s tartan spectacle as Scotty MacLoo makes his event debut, thanks to major sponsor, and local Perth company, Scotloo.
Scotty Macloo has already attracted admiring comments on social networking sites, and was turning heads aplenty as he made his first outing to the North Inch in Perth last week to get his bearings ahead of the big day and to pose for his first, of what is expected to be many, photo shoots.
Managing director of Scotloo, Anne Smith, commented “Event loos often get the reputation, pardon the pun, of being bog standard. But we like to think of ourselves as able to stand out from the crowd, so it made sense to us that designing a loo with that cheeky Scottish charm was an obvious way to go.”
“His first outing already had heads turning and cars tooting, and we hope he’s going to be popular with visitors to the event on the day. It’s all in the spirit of good family fun and we’re delighted he’s getting his formal unveiling at this most prestigious event.”
Scotloo are also calling on the younger members of the Perthshire public to help in designing a friend to accompany Scotty MacLoo to future engagements. Entry forms will be available on the Scotloo stand on the North Inch on Saturday 2nd June.
Caroline Caird, manager of Scotloo said “Once we saw Scotty MacLoo in all his glory, we felt the need to find him a nice Scottish lass and we’re sure that the local kids will be able to come up with the best LOO-king lady for him.”
Scotloo are sponsoring the Queens’ Diamond Jubilee celebrations run by Perth & Kinross Council this weekend, which is a free event for all the family and includes the 1000 Pipers Parade, the Big Jubilee Lunch and the Perth Kilt Run.
