CKD Galbraith’s surveying team has been strengthened by three graduate surveyors completing their final RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

Commercial surveyors, Seb Findlay and Nicola Charleston, and rural surveyor, Claire Acheson, passed their assessment last month.

Says a spokesperson: “The APC is a programme of practical training and experience which, when combined with academic qualifications, leads to RICS membership.

“The final submission by candidates includes an APC logbook, a professional development record and a 3,000-word report detailing a project undertaken during this training period. This report forms the basis of a presentation made by the candidate at the final assessment interview.

“The qualification marks the culmination of extensive training provided by CKD Galbraith to add to the candidates’ academic qualifications.

“Our three surveyors completed different academic routes on their road to APC success. Seb completed an Honours degree in Ancient History and Archaeology at the University of Manchester before going on to gain a Masters degree in Real Estate Management and Development at Heriot-Watt University.

“Nicola completed an Honours degree in Estate Management at Heriot-Watt University before going on to gain a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Town Planning, also at Heriot-Watt University.

“Claire completed an Honours degree in French at the University of Glasgow before going on to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying with the College of Estate Management while working as a trainee land agent in Perthshire and then Inverness.”

Pam Over, partner at CKD Galbraith, said: “We are delighted that Seb, Nicola and Claire have passed their APC which is just reward for the hard work they have undertaken in recent months and years.

“CKD Galbraith places the utmost importance on the recruitment of the best graduates and subsequent professional development involving a robust diet of training coupled with real hands-on experience in the property field.

“RICS qualifications, and membership of relevant professional bodies, are key to fostering confidence amongst clients when they seek professional property advice. CKD Galbraith regards such credentials as essential so we welcome Seb, Nicola and Claire’s success and we wish them well as they progress their career with the firm.”
