PROSECCO bars have been popping up on every street corner in central Milan this summer as the latest cosmopolitan continental drinking craze gathers pace – and now Scotland’s first-ever Prosecco bar has opened in the west of Glasgow, adding a sparkle to the local wining and dining scene.
The new Fantinel Prosecco bar at Paperino’s West End on Byres Road offers a glamorous new addition to an already vibrant bar and restaurant quarter.
The brainchild of Paperino’s proprietor, Stefano Giovanazzi, its opening marks the culmination of months of planning and considerable investment and constitutes a bold statement of his determination to continue to drive Glasgow’s hospitality sector onto new levels.
“The opening of our Prosecco bar sets a new benchmark that elevates Glasgow’s food and drink scene to a level where it can compete alongside the cosmopolitan capitals of the world,” he said.

Fantinel is a family-owned Italy-based wine and spirits company based in Friuli crafting the only DOC Prosecco produced in the Prosecco grapes native region.
The new Fantinel prosecco bar at Paperino’s West End is open from 9am Monday to Saturday serving breakfast.
