Châtel is a member of the Pays d’Art et d’Histoire (Country of Art and History) label which symbolises the resort’s mission to preserve its rich heritage, gastronomy, habitat, knowledge and environment.
This year, a new spa and luxury residence, Centre O des Cimes as well as the Chalets d’Angèle, will open. This will offer guests new opportunities to enjoy the famous slopes of the the established resort.
Gastronomy is one of Châtel’s highlights and includes Abondance – a local cheese – and the ‘Neiges Etoilées’ (Starry Snow) international culinary festival which brings together the best local chefs.
Those looking for alternative activities can also enjoy ice fishing, a high altitude spa and special themed weeks such as Carnival and Charivari (French folk music).
