Gastronomy is one of Châtel’s highlights and includes Abondance – a local cheese – and the ‘Neiges Etoilées’ (Starry Snow) international culinary festival which brings together the best local chefs.

Those looking for alternative activities can also enjoy ice fishing, a high altitude spa and special themed weeks such as Carnival and Charivari (French folk music).
