Media Release: Edinburgh DJ is 2012 DMC World Championship finalist

FREAK Records are delighted and proud to announce that Edinburgh-born Ritchie Ruftone has reached the final stage of the 2012 DMC World Championships (27th and 28th September 2012).

Begins a spokesperson: “He represents the whole of the UK and is one of 35 finalists from countries around the world.

“This new accomplishment brings Ruftone to become the first DJ in history to take part in three major world finals (DMC World (online) Championship, DMC Battle for World Supremacy, DMC World Championship).

“The first competition deadline for the DMC Online Championships is open for voting until Monday 27th August, we are looking for all Edinburgh and Scotland supporters to log on, watch the new music video featuring Ritchie and vote on his performance.”

The video was shot in Edinburgh by Freak Records and shows Ritchie ‘Vader’ Ruftone himself behind the decks mixing it up for the audience.

“It will be amazing and testament to real talent in Scotland if we manage to get a second DMC world champion from Scotland.”
