MONTROSE-based oil and gas training company, The Safety Hub, has already reported a bumper year for 2012, with the addition of new directors and a brand new division to facilitate further business growth.

The company has been providing specialist health, safety and environmental training to the oil and gas industry for nearly a decade and has become a trusted partner for many operators and service companies.

The first half of the year saw the launch of the new dedicated Environmental Division, built in a direct response to unprecedented client demand.

The division now manages and runs the company’s key environmental offering – the E-Reps course.

Built to give individuals the opportunity to train as specialist Environmental Representatives (E-Reps) who exist both onshore and offshore, the training aims to add emphasis to not harming the environment through operational activities.

Five hundred people have already taken part in the training in the space of less than two years – testament to how valued this training is within the industry.

The company has further bolstered its offerings with the appointments of Jill Rennie to the role of consultancy director heading up the new Environmental Division, John Moss as training director and Geoff Feeney as managing director.

All three have hands-on onshore and offshore experience in their relative fields to senior level – a formula which continues to ensure all courses offered by The Safety Hub are delivered by industry experienced staff within an interactive and enjoyable structure.

Commenting on the company’s blossoming year to date, Feeney said: “We are delighted with the progress made this year and believe strongly in changing behaviours, reducing injuries and improving performance through effective and fundamental training.

“We deliver our training in Aberdeen and work closely with some of the world’s largest oil and gas operators to develop and maintain positive cultures that ultimately become engrained in all employees.

“The eventual result of this is no harm to employees or to the environment and, in this industry more so than any other, that is something we are all striving for.”

He continued: “The Safety Hub is continuing to meet industry demand in the creation of bespoke training like the E-Reps course and the OPITO certified ‘Control of Work for Performing Authorities’ course – a course which we are currently the only safety training organisation globally accredited to provide.”
