LE Bistrot and the Institut français d’Ecosse introduce ‘Les Dîners du Bistrot’, a new series of themed-dinners around la table and its delights.
Opening the series is Le Repas des Vendangeurs, an event dedicated to the grape-pickers on Tuesday 25 September, 6.30 pm.
While the harvest season is drawing to an end, Le Bistrot’s chef invites food lovers to celebrate this new wine year in the purest French tradition: around a large communal table!
Subtly mixing locally sourced products and specialities from France, the chef has drawn up a special four-course menu that bursts with autumnal flavours: pike quenelles in Nantua sauce, Beaujolais terrine, fourme and Lyonnais sausages are all featured here.
The French wine is chosen to match both the food and the party atmosphere.
‘Les Dîners du Bistrot’ are themed-dinner events conceived to celebrate French food in all its diversity.
Housed around communal tables in the newly reopened Bistrot de l’Institut, these dining events offer once to twice a month a set menu varying with the seasons and the themes.
Le Repas des Vendangeurs is on Tuesday 25 September, 6.30 pm.

Le Bistrot is run by Edinburgh-based restaurateur, Fred Berkmiller.

Open from Monday to Friday, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm and located in the premises of the Institut français d’Ecosse, 13 Randolph Crescent, Edinburgh EH3 7TT.
In close collaboration with the Institut français, Le Bistrot is open on the occasional evenings to accompany the gastronomic and non-gastronomic events put on by the Institute.
