Media Release: Football club gets social

BUSINESSES could be wasting hundreds of hours in productivity each year because they’re not using Facebook and Twitter correctly.

And some are missing out on opportunities to increase sales and improve their reputations by not using the social networks at all.

The claims come from digital marketing agency, NSDesign, who are heading to Greenock later this month to deliver their latest ‘Embrace The Space’ Social-Media-for-Business training workshop.

The Hillington-based company has joined forces with Morton FC for the interactive, full-day session that takes place in the corporate facilities at Cappielow on Friday October 19th from 0930-1700 and includes a stadium tour.

NSDesign’s managing director, Gary Ennis, said: “We’ve been running these sessions regularly for the last three years and last time round, 100 per cent of the 30 attendees said they considered it value for money, and 100 per cent said they’d recommend the course to a friend.

“We’re always being asked to visit other parts of the country and since we already work with Morton as their web designers it made sense to make this the first stop on our tour.”

Ennis is convinced every business, of every size, has something to gain from social media but warns against getting caught up in the hype and advocates a plan and a strategy to ensure the right results.

“Some people give the impression Facebook, Twitter and the like is a magic wand, a quick fix, or an easy bit of marketing. It’s not. It takes time and effort. We see loads of businesses who get started, try it for a bit and then give up because they’re not getting anywhere.

“As fans and long time users of social media this disappoints us and part of our aim is to make high quality, interactive social media training affordable for every business.”

The session on Friday October 19th costs £150+VAT per person with group discounts available. More details and booking information is available at www.embracethespace.co.uk and Gary says the course is suitable for everyone, regardless of how much they already know.

“One of the things clients really enjoy about our workshops is the interactive elements, the networking and the way they all learn from each other. This isn’t about us standing preaching at businesses, it’s about us all working together to get good results from this new technology.”

Journalist and broadcaster, Colin Kelly, will join Gary to lead the workshop and gives us a preview of what’s in store.

“It’s not just Facebook and Twitter, although those networks have the biggest numbers. Some businesses find Linkedin is the most suitable so we have a detailed look at that and reveal the features and tricks 99 per cent of users don’t know about.

“We also demonstrate social media management tools which make managing the whole issue of ‘time’ much easier and show some quick, effective ways to build a bigger audience and proactively find sales relevant leads.”

NSDesign has been in business for 14 years and the company estimates more than 3,000 businesses throughout Scotland have previously attended an ‘Embrace The Space’ workshop.

The company is frequently asked to deliver one-to-one social media consultancy to larger clients in the public and private sectors.
