A FAST-growing Scottish communications agency has appointed a new associate partner as part of its ongoing expansion plans.

Donald Morrison, who is former head of media for Scotland’s largest airport operator, will join corporate communications and public affairs specialist, Dram Communications, as an associate partner, specialising in media and reputation management.

The association will see Donald Morrison team up with former colleague, David McIntosh, previously head of public affairs for BAA in Scotland, who formed Dram Communications in 2008 with David Ross, former corporate communications project director at ScottishPower.

Morrison’s appointment comes during a period of expansion for Dram which has secured several major new contracts in recent months. The company’s impressive client list includes leading public and private sector organisations from across Scotland and the UK, including the John Lewis Partnership, Land Securities and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.

Morrison brings considerable corporate communications experience to the Dram team, including media and reputation management training. The Glasgow-based PR professional is no stranger to crisis events. He was the lead BAA Scotland spokesman in the aftermath of the 2007 terrorist attack on Glasgow Airport and has spoken on reputation management at conferences in Glasgow, London and Dubai.

David Ross, managing partner of Dram Communications, said: “We are delighted to have Donald Morrison on board. His appointment will enable us to provide an enhanced service for our clients and reflects our ambitions to continue to grow the business and expand our sphere of expertise. This is hopefully the first of many new associations as we roll out a suite of new services for our clients.”

Donald Morrison, associate partner, said: “Dram Communications has grown quickly in a relatively short time, and in a market dominated by larger agencies it has continued to thrive because of its reputation for providing sound, strategic advice. Its impressive client list is testament to the strength of its brand and I am delighted to be joining the team.”
