MAURICE Taylor, founder and chief executive of one of the UK’s leading independent hotel management companies, Chardon Management, has been awarded a certificate of recognition for his work as a mentor on the Business Mentoring Scotland programme.

A partnership between Scottish Chambers of Commerce and Scottish Enterprise, Business Mentoring Scotland matches ambitious entrepreneurs with mentors with a wealth of experience willing to help boost profitability, productivity, launch new products and improve customer service.

In addition to mentoring a number of young businesses in the hotels and leisure sector over recent years, Taylor currently advises an entrepreneur with a new concept for nurseries and children’s care on a range of business issues, including franchising and brand management.

“I’m delighted to receive this certificate for the assistance I’ve been able to provide to some younger businesses through the Business Mentoring network,” said Taylor.

“I’ve always believed in the importance of knowledge transfer and know from my own experience in this programme that mentoring can be an effective way to help businesses grow. It’s been a privilege to work with some bright young entrepreneurs over recent years and to play a part in helping them achieve their business goals.”

Chardon manages 35 hotels and seven health and fitness clubs throughout the length and breadth of the UK and its own brand portfolio comprises: La Bonne Auberge; Limelight Bar & Grill; Triangle Health and Fitness; Tri Health & Beauty and Hoteldeals.co.uk
