A NORTH-east public relations firm has won a prestigious industry award at the CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) Scotland PRide Awards 2012.

Frasermedia, which is based in Aberdeen’s Chattan Place, secured the gold award to be named Scotland’s Most Outstanding Small PR Consultancy 2012 at a glittering awards dinner, held last Thursday (6 December 2012) at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange.

The awards are hosted by the industry body for the PR sector to celebrate and recognise the excellent work of the public relations and communications industry in Scotland.

The CIPR PRide Awards receive over 1,000 entries from freelancers, consultancies and in-house teams across twelve UK regions and nations. The judging process for the PRide Awards is rigorous with a national panel of industry experts assessing the shortlisted entries and choosing the winners.

The judges said they loved the ‘wow’ factor of Frasermedia’s entry and described the firm as a caring and creative agency. The application demonstrated real care of the staff and their progression and it was evident that client relationships are managed in a very personal way and to a high standard.

Managing director, Pauline Cook, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to secure the title as the outstanding small PR consultancy in Scotland.

“These are the most prestigious PR awards north of the border judged by top industry experts so we are honoured that the work our team delivers for clients across Scotland has been recognised.

“This is a fantastic accolade for the team and a huge thank you for all their hard work. It marks a great end to another successful year in business and we’re now looking forward to continuing to grow our client base and team in the months ahead.”

CIPR CEO, Jane Wilson MCIPR, commented: “The Scotland CIPR PRide Awards celebrate the best PR and communications campaigns and teams from across the region.

“The sheer number of high quality entries received this year, especially when things are still pretty tough out there economically, is testament to a thriving regional industry. The CIPR PRide Awards represent the best, most creative and most effective public relations work across the UK and to win an award is agreat achievement.”

Frasermedia was launched in 2007 by ex-journalist Pauline Cook (nee Fraser) and provides targeted and bespoke PR to a range of clients in the North-east and across Scotland.

The firm also specialises in media response and presentation skills training and corporate DVD production.

Last night’s event was attended by more than 350 PR industry professionals and hosted by Catriona Shearer from BBC Reporting Scotland.
