IT was a case of Greggs on legs on Tuesday as well-known radio personality, Gina McKie, teamed up with Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at the Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns, to dish out a mountain of free mince pies to spread Christmas cheer amongst care home residents in East Renfrewshire.
Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue, said: “There’s nothing quite like the smell of a delicious, freshly baked mince pie to put you in the Christmas spirit, so with the help of our local Greggs’, Gina and myself spent the day dashing from one care home to another to help put care home residents in the mood for festive celebrations.
“And judging by the warm reception we received from all the grateful residents, there’s going to be a real Christmas party at care homes in East Ren this year!”
The Avenue Shopping Centre, managed by commercial property consultancy BTWShiells, offers shoppers an alternative to sprawling trolley-dash shopping culture with a comprehensive range of outlets offering a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
