Media Release: ISG joins UK elite with Green Installer Accreditation

Andy Mallice - ISG Scottish Managing Director

FOLLOWING the recent introduction of the Government-backed ‘Green Deal’ initiative, ISG has become one of the first construction companies in Scotland to be awarded Green Installer accreditation (PAS 2030), for External Wall Insulation.

To attain the certification, ISG underwent a series of rigorous office-based and on-site inspections by the British Board of Agrément (BBA), who are accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to offer installer approval under the Green Deal.

At the heart of the Energy Act 2011, the Green Deal targets a reduction in UK carbon emission output, improved competition in the energy marketplace, as well as minimising the national demand for imported gas supplies by offering consumers and businesses access to funding for property improvements as part of a Green Deal Plan.

ISG’s Andy Mallice, managing director – Scotland, commented: “The social housing sector has been at the vanguard of organisations looking to reduce the carbon footprint of their property portfolios.

“Whether highly sustainable new-build developments or retrofit solutions to existing properties, the sector represents an important market for contractors with the correct credentials and a successful track record of project delivery.

“Securing this latest industry accreditation highlights ISG’s on-going commitment to delivering high quality and innovative solutions to our social housing clients, but also extends this expertise across our commercial client base.”
