THE Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns has boosted its rolling roster of free family activities on Funday Sundays with the addition of entertainers, Get Crafty and Uncle Billy’s Punch & Judy, to get 2013 off to a fun-packed start.

Featuring everything from face painters to balloon modellers, Funday Sundays at The Avenue remove the hassle and put the fun back into family shopping by mixing activities to entertain the kids with opportunities for grown-ups to browse and hunt for bargains amongst a variety of retail outlets within the one covered location.

Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue, said: “Our aim is to offer something special every Sunday at The Avenue to make family shopping an even more enjoyable experience – and the addition of Get Crafty and Uncle Billy’s Punch & Judy to our roster of entertainers will help us do just that.

“Our Funday Sundays activities will change constantly because, as every parent knows, kids get bored easily, which is no fun when you’ve got shopping to do!”

Funday Sundays at The Avenue run from 11am till 4pm and typically include a caricaturist, balloon man and popular mall mascots Newton and Fearn.

The Avenue Shopping Centre, managed by commercial property consultancy BTWShiells, offers shoppers an alternative to sprawling trolley-dash shopping culture with a comprehensive range of outlets offering a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
