Media Release: Techno savvy leasing

PAPERWORK could one day become a thing of the past as more and more businesses embrace new technologies in an attempt to become more technical savvy  – to improve productivity in the workplace, reduce costs and be streets ahead of competitors.

A leading North-east leasing company has created a bespoke tablet application for adding details about new properties to its books, which will increase the speed of the initial valuation appointment  and reduce the amount of paperwork for landlords and staff.

Aberdeen Property Leasing (APL), based in the city’s Rosemount area has been operating in the North-east for more than 30 years and manages an average of 1,500 properties in the area at any one time so the application will be an invaluable tool for staff.

The main aim of the application is to reduce the time spent filling out paperwork about a new property once a leasing agent has returned to the office, and will diminish the need to fill out forms as they will be completed on-site at the property at the time of sign up with the landlord using the tablet application.

It will allow the agent to take an image of the property and add details about it whilst on site, all of which can then be sent straight to the landlord for final sign off.

The forms produced using the application are all created in a word document format meaning it can be edited and saved easily by the leasing agent and the new Landlord, making the process simple and fast to use.

Sales director for APL, David Lamb, said: “The idea to create the app was a thought that the process of an initial valuation appointment could be simplified and the time spent on paperwork could be reduced.

“Our leasing agents have all been fully trained on how the application works and how to use it to its full ability. At APL we want to be making processes simpler for both staff and landlords.

“Most people today have smart phones or tablet so the information  can be sent straight to the landlord meaning the documents will be received on their phone or tablet which can then be easily retrieved for future use.”

APL offers guidance on all aspects of property leasing and maintenance as well as rent collection and administration. The company also has an insurance department that specialises in property, as well as general insurance.
