SCOTS TV personality and former BBC Changing Rooms presenter, Carol Smillie, is set to return to Aberdeen later this year to star at Scottish Home Show.

Tommy Walsh, known for presenting TV’s Ground Force, will also be there, running DIY demonstrations and offering advice.

Organisers of  Scottish Home Show are expecting to build on the success of last year’s event, which attracted over 8,000 visitors, when it returns to Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) in September.

Over 200 exhibitors are expected to exhibit at the three-day event, which will showcase the latest in home improvements, garden design, furniture, gadgets and interiors.

Some big brands, including AGA, Bo Concept and Harrods, are already confirmed for the show, which will run from 27-29 September.

Director of Scottish Home Show, Darren Ross, said:  “Last year’s event was a big success and far exceeded our expectations.

“This year’s show is shaping up nicely and we’re naturally really excited about it.

“We’ve had a huge amount of interest, both from visitors and exhibitors; there’s going to be a lot of variety with lots of national brands, such as  IKEA and Victor Paris, along with some great local businesses too, including Crosby Kitchens, GPH Builders and Booths.”

Main sponsor for 2013 is multi award-winning property developer, Dandara Homes.

Gavin Wyley, managing director, Dandara Aberdeen, said: “We are really excited about our involvement with the Scottish Home Show. It’s a unique event that we are keen to be a part of and it gives us a great platform to showcase our latest developments in the North-east.”

Other sponsors include Bon Accord Glass, Claymore Homes, and Laings Direct Line.

The show will take over the AECC’s main arena, where there is expected to be something for everyone. As well as exhibition  stands, there will be whisky tasting, cooking lessons by local chefs, baking demonstrations by Dean’s of Huntly and Bentley cars will be showing off their latest models.
