LEADING mid-tier accountancy firm, French Duncan, has appointed Paula Galloway, former director at a ‘Big Four’ firm, as an audit partner as the expansion of its services across Scotland’s Central Belt continues apace.

Having worked in Ireland, Hong Kong and Scotland over the course of her career, Galloway brings considerable breadth of experience and professional insight to the firm.

For the last 11 years, Galloway was an audit director at KPMG with responsibility for delivering audit and related services to a portfolio of clients, including businesses operating in the manufacturing, construction, engineering, leisure and services sectors in Scotland.

Commenting on her appointment, Galloway said: “Having spent the majority of my career working within a Big Four environment, I was delighted with the opportunity to come and work with French Duncan; a dynamic firm with ambition for further significant growth.

“When you consider the extent of the investment that Managing Partner Graeme Finnie and his team have put into the practice over recent years, it is clear that this is a firm with ambition that, through merger and recruitment, is actively building on its offering – that made it a very attractive proposition for me.

“Companies of all sizes now have options beyond the Big Four when appointing their professional advisers. There is now an abundance of experience available within mid-tier accountancy firms which can provide excellent robust advice – and you can certainly see that in the quality of the people at French Duncan.”

French Duncan’s managing partner, Graeme Finnie, added: “I’m delighted to have been able to secure a partner of Paula’s calibre for the firm. I regard this appointment as a reflection of the growth in the stature of this business that has been achieved over recent years.

“Following our recent merger with Macfarlane Gray, French Duncan is now a national Scottish practice and our stated aim is to become our clients’ premier advisor.

“We recognise that our people are our biggest asset and the ability to attract partners of Paula’s stature is evidence that we are well on our way to realising our objectives.”

With a combined fee income of £10 million, nearly 200 employees and a network of eight offices across Scotland French Duncan is one of the leading independent accountancy practices in Scotland.
