Media Release: Treat yourself to a Sunday of serenity with Zen-inspired live art performance, Enso, by LaNua

LORES Enso

LANUA is an Edinburgh-based company that specialise in creating large live art projects. Enso is a site-specific installation dance performance that will take place at Eden Court’s Jim Love Studio on Sunday 14th April at 19.00.

Inspired by Zen art forms – gardens, calligraphy and poems (Haiku) and uses paper, fabric and stones, the dancers weave poems, movement and images to create a serene, unforgettable show.

First performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010 at three different locations

(Dance Base, Edinburgh Royal Botanical Gardens & Dovecot Studios), enso explored how contrasting spaces affect the experience of the piece.

With an international cast and continued support from Creative Scotland, LaNua brings enso to Eden Court as part of their tour.

Notes to editors:

  • Eden Court is the largest multi-arts venue in Scotland. It re-opened in November 2007 following an extensive redevelopment programme, which saw the addition of two purpose built cinemas, a brand new flexible second theatre space and two dance and education studios.
  • Eden Court is the only theatre in Scotland to offer Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) courses in Drama and Dance. These are extracurricular courses, which offer pupils from across Highland the opportunity to study at Eden Court for an SQA Higher Dance, Drama or Intermediate 2 exams. Aside from Eden Court, there is only one school in the Highlands where pupils can sit SQA Higher Drama exams.
