SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors is offering a former care home in Aberdeen with planning permission for student accommodation for sale.

Formerly known as the Fountville Care Home, the property is laid out to provide the usual facilities associated with care homes, such as lounge areas and bedrooms.

The 8,600 sq ft property comprises of a two storey and attic detached building which at present is operating with a 20 person HMO licence.

Located in close proximity to the University of Aberdeen, the property is situated on the west side of Summer Street at its junction with Tanfield Walk within the Woodside area of Aberdeen.

James Morrison, surveyor at Shepherd, said: “The site benefits from having conditional planning permission for a change of use of the former care home to student accommodation, comprising of 20 bedrooms and the formation of five new car parking spaces.

“We anticipate good levels of interest due to the University of Aberdeen being located just one mile to the east of the property; and Aberdeen itself benefits from a large student population of approximately 50,000.”
