Media Release: Scotland’s leading production facility boasts growth in difficult climate

EDINBURGH’S award-winning film and TV production and post-production company, Freakworks, is responding to their busiest year by changing their management structure and appointing Tamsin Ansdell as their new MD.

This change will see Hamish Allison founder and former MD move into the role of creative director.

Creating two senior board level roles at Freakworks will allow for creative output and client servicing to be stronger whilst still capitalsing on recent growth and business opportunities.

Tamsin, previously of 1576 Advertising, and since 2007 partner in Edinburgh ad agency, Mightysmall, leaves to join Hamish Allison’s successful Freakworks, whose recent work includes Irn-Bru, EMI, BBC, Heineken and Adidas as well as work with advertising, digital and design agencies.

Says a spokesperson: “Freakworks has been steadily growing in the last three years, both in terms of prestige clients and the creative team.

“Freakworks has recently been identified and supported in growth by Scottish Enterprise to explore new markets and, as a result, with the business changing, it makes sense for Hamish Allison to make the move to head up the company as creative director and for it to be managed by Tamsin in the role of MD.”

Hamish Allison, MD of Freakworks, said:

“We’ve looked at many new market opportunities and now need a dedicated resource to get our proposition right and convert sales. Tamsin knows us and her strategic, business acumen is a perfect fit for us – she’s well respected throughout our industry. She’ll be a big addition to our management team.”
