HE may be one of Scotland’s most renowned entrepreneurs, with an impressive track record of business success in restaurants spanning many decades, but that does not mean that ‘Secret Millionaire’, Charan Gill MBE, is unwilling to listen to business advice from his customers – however young.
So when 11 year-old customer, Sam Heaney, emailed The Quay Complex in Musselburgh to explain that he was a fan of its new World Buffet and planned to visit for his 12th birthday next month – but would really like to see some Mexican dishes – Charan immediately took his advice to heart.
In addition to its range of dishes from around the world, including pizzas, pastas, Indian, Chinese, sushi, Thai, a carvery and burger station, special guest Sam Heaney will launch The Quay World Banquet’s new Mexican counter featuring fajitas, tacos and enchiladas and other dishes on his birthday on 7th May.
Charan said: “Listening to customers’ wishes is the key to success for any restaurant – indeed any business – and I have Sam to thank for reminding me of that fundamental fact.
“And I hope that our prompt response to his request helps show that I’m not yet too old to be told what to do!”
The Quay World Banquet offers lunch banquet (Monday to Saturday) for £8.50; a weekday evening banquet for £11.99; Friday and Saturday evening banquets for £13.99 and a Sunday all day banquet for £9.99 with children’s options available at all times.
The Quay Complex is located just five miles from the centre of Edinburgh on the A1 at the picturesque harbour of Fisherrow in Musselburgh, overlooking the Firth of Forth.
