SHEPHERD Chartered Surveyors has secured the former Castle Antiques shop at 330 Lawnmarket in Edinburgh for Kiltane Retail on a 25-year lease at £72,000 pa.

Kiltane Retail operates from a number of high-quality premises in Edinburgh and this 1,430 sq ft ground and basement unit will complement these and operate as a premium provider of the finest Scottish clothing and accessories.

330 Lawnmarket received a high level of interest with 11 offers received, each above the asking rent of £65,000 pa, and the majority including substantial premium offers for the new FRI lease.

Ian Hannon, managing partner at Shepherd with responsibility for overseeing its commercial operation in Edinburgh, said: “We have been delighted to assist Kiltane in this and a number of other high profile acquisitions throughout Edinburgh.

“This unit occupies a highly prominent position within the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town and only a short distance from the castle, therefore we were not surprised at the level of interest the property generated.

“We were delighted to advise Kiltane Retail in the acquisition of such a prime unit which we feel will trade well, given the high tourist traffic in the area.”

The unit is scheduled to open on 13th June 2013. Kiltane Retail was represented by Shepherd whilst Ryden acted on behalf of the private landlord.
