DOWNHOLE Products has announced that its Asian division has secured contracts worth $2.5 million (USD) since the beginning of this year.

The award-winning accessory and completion tool company moved its Asian HQ to new, larger premises in Kuala Lumpur city centre earlier this year to accommodate a growing team.

From here, a staff of 11 looks after clients throughout the Asia Pacific region from Australia to Sakhalin supported by offices in Brunei, Vietnam and Australia.

Downhole Products’ managing director, Ian Kirk, said: “Since we originally opened in Malaysia in 2010, we have seen growth of more than 120 per cent and the addition of numerous new customers to our client base.

“In Malaysia alone, we have won $1.5 million (USD) of work since the start of 2013.

“We are pleased with our performance in this part of the world this year so far and we anticipate further growth in the next few years as the Malaysian oil and gas market continues to develop.”

Established in 1994 and with its global headquarters at Portlethen near Aberdeen, Scotland, Downhole Products is a leader in the design, manufacture and supply of casing accessories and completion tools such as centralisers, reamer guide shoes and cable clamp protectors.

Downhole Products will be at the 14th Asian Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition (OGA 2013) at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia between June 5 and 7.
