Game, Stilton, Match!

WAITROSE’S five Scottish branches are serving up a tennis-themed treat to just in time for Wimbledon.

From Monday 24th June, the new and exclusive Creamy White Stilton with Strawberries arrives in store, as Andy Murray fans get into the swing of the famous tennis tournament.

In what is recognised as a supermarket first, Waitrose has matched the classic Wimbledon combination of strawberries and cream with a rich, white stilton. Enjoyed simply on crackers with a glass of fizz, it’s the ideal accompaniment to watching one of Scotland’s most successful athletes play his way to victory.

Lindsay Clifford, branch manager of Waitrose Stirling, says: “There’s a real buzz in Stirling and Dunblane ahead of Wimbledon and we’re all hoping this will be Andy’s year.

“For everyone who can’t enjoy strawberries and cream on the stands or on Murray Mound, this cheese is the perfect Wimbledon snack to nibble on while Andy bats off the competition.”

Waitrose Cheese Buyer, Nicola Plummer says: ‘We think our new Wimbledon inspired cheese is a stroke of genius. Wimbledon is a great British event and our customers really enjoy getting into the swing of it over the fortnight. We think they will love our new and unusual cheese, even if they don’t live anywhere near SW19.’

Made in the village of Cropwell Bishop, with an abundance of strawberries pieces, this fruity mild white stilton is a rich and indulgent treat.
