ACTING on behalf of Persimmon Homes, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors is offering a neighbourhood retail development opportunity in Garthamlock to let or for sale.

Situated in close proximity to the M8 motorway and Glasgow Fort Shopping Centre, the development consists of five units ranging from 1,000 sq ft up to 3,000 sq ft on a site located within Garthamlock, a suburb in the north east of Glasgow.

The proposed development will form a commercial centrepiece within a larger scale development of the Garthamlock site by Persimmon Homes. The site has already been developed by Persimmon Homes to include houses for rent and for sale. To date, some 350 houses have been built with a further 450 planned.

Douglas Law at Persimmon said: “Positioned between a new area for two and three storey housing and the existing community centre, this development fills a gap in the market and represents an improvement to the area as part of an overall neighbourhood area comprising a mix of local authority housing and private stock, part of which has recently been built by Persimmon as part of the Garthamlock Regeneration Initiative.”

Scott Grindlay, surveyor at Shepherd, said: “Interest in this development from both local and national retail operators is currently outstripping the units available and we are confident of securing deals with tenants and owner/occupiers over the coming months.”

Plans for the development have now been submitted to the Local Authority for approval.
