Media Release: Hawkhill House Nursing Home to welcome world-class talent

RESIDENTS of Hawkhill House Nursing Home on the outskirts of Aberdeen are preparing to welcome some of the world’s top young musicians during the Aberdeen International Youth Festival.

Hawkhill House owner and managing director Rona Tayler is a long-term supporter of the Festival and, in recognition of her commitment, groups of young visiting musicians annually entertain at the Milltimber home during their time in the North east.

The series of performances traditionally culminates in Hawkhill House’s annual garden party for residents, families, staff and Friends of Hawkhill.

This year’s visitors to the Milltimber home will include Colombian voice and accordion band Los Ninos Vallenatos del Turco Gil; Russian musicians Ann Doroshenkova, Ann Vovk and Maya Tarasova and accapella group Umdumo Wesizwe from Zimbabwe.

British talent will also be to the fore when the TLA Steelband from Littlehamptom Community School in England entertains residents.

Rona Tayler said: “The Aberdeen International Youth Festival continues to provide an important showcase for the talent of these young people and we look forward to welcoming them to share their music and songs with us.

“The annual garden party is one of the highlights of our annual calendar and it is a much anticipated event among our residents.”

Hawkhill House Nursing Home is located at 234 North Deeside Road, Milltimber, Aberdeen, AB13 0DQ.
